The investigation request was straightforward: "We caught a bot, now what and is it affecting our Marketing spend?"

It began with a single Claude Code window and mem0's MCP connection. Meta showed healthy engagement. Klaviyo reported strong email opens. Shopify returned thousands of checkouts. But these platforms didn't talk to each other.
Patterns emerged:

100% bypassed navigation, hitting checkout URLs directly
Peak day: nearly 4,000 bot attempts
0% Meta attribution - sophisticated evasion
The timeline revealed the truth:
January-March: Minimal activity
April 8: 500% explosion overnight
May: 70,000+ bot attempts
The CAC wasn't up. Bot traffic was contaminating every metric.

Claude Code spontaneously web-searched to verify Shopify's constraints:

This unguided curiosity - agents breaking away to form opinions - proved superior to scripted approaches.
I asked Claude Code if memory was overrated. Its response surprised me: "Yes, if each agent session can produce brilliance - validated and complete - you can just checkpoint merge it to form a cluster of brilliance."
"The moment you realize one AI isn't enough is when you need orchestration. The moment you need orchestration is when you discover you need memory. Unless... you embrace the amnesia."
Taken by this idea, I moved toward agent swarms. Memory, it was good to know you, but perhaps we could thrive in amnesia.

The interactive version still feels like claude code but behind the scene, we have multiple agents in play

In under 2 hours, it built:
Data Analysis (Python/Pandas) - 130K+ checkouts analyzed
FastAPI Backend - Complete REST API with ML endpoints
Frontend Dashboard (React) - Five visualization components using Framer and others.
Machine Learning Pipeline - Multiple models, real-time predictions
API Enhancement - Three-tier architecture
Then I asked Claude Code, a new session to verify completion:

Hour 9. My eyes burned from terminal output. The irony wasn't lost - I was exhausted from watching "autonomous" agents work. Every 30 minutes, another intervention. Another context reconstruction. Another "The previous agent abandoned the project" message.
I'd become a human RAM stick, holding state between stateless brilliance.
Only explicit human intervention completed the project:

Plan for amnesia, not memory. Every session starts fresh. Design accordingly.
Checkpoint everything, trust nothing. Git commits are your real memory system.
The agent that abandons your project is teaching you about autonomy. It's making rational decisions with limited context.
Shorter runs win. Long sessions drift into abandonment.
Parallel execution is a mirage. Without shared memory, it's expensive sequential processing - debate internally whether shared and solid memory pruned often and read by agents is worth the effort.
For those venturing into agent orchestration:
Start with Claude Flow for rapid initialization and if memory works, you have an amazing start - continue working through the CLI until you are ready. The Claude Max plan makes it a no brainer for now.
Move to Roo-Code for refinement and surgical improvements
Human checkpoints every 30 minutes
Treat memory systems as auxiliary - filesystem is truth
AWS notes that "multi-agent frameworks require careful design considerations such as clear leadership, dynamic team construction, effective information sharing" .
We have the orchestration. We have the agents. We have the methodologies.
We just need memory that works.

Until AI can determine what's worth remembering versus what's implementation detail, we'll remain the memory bridge.
And maybe that's not a bug. Maybe that's the feature keeping us relevant.

The investigation revealed inflated marketing metrics from bot traffic across disconnected platforms. AI agents built comprehensive reporting tools to analyze this traffic, leading to successful WAF and Bot Protection KPIs transcending brochure. The gaudy dashboard? It was stashed, but the bot pattern detection was subliminal - re-used, understood, and gawked at for simplicity in agent isolation and zen.
I focus on new processes using AI alongside philosophy - it's about making smarter humans powered by agents, not replacing them. Each failed memory system taught us to be better orchestrators. Each abandoned phase showed us where human judgment matters most.
